Fableweather Journeys

Callings & Specializations

Take up a calling, then become your build through play. You're never boxed in — your character can walk many paths, each leveled in its own right, and blending two disciplines opens specializations a pure build can never reach. Builds and names are work in progress and subject to change.

The Six Callings

Every adventurer begins as a survivor of the calamity — callings are earned in the world, not picked from a menu. Your character may take up any calling their people allow, level each as its own independent track, and switch between them freely — the active calling drives your abilities and strengths. Some peoples open unique paths of their own.

Vanguard
Tank
Hold the line; protect and draw the enemy's wrath.
Mender
Healer
Restore, bless, and ward the living.
Reaver
Melee Damage
Blades, fury, and relentless momentum.
Evoker
Spellcaster
Call down arcane and elemental ruin.
Adept
Magical Support
Hexes, wards, and enchantment — bend the weave.
Skald
Martial Support
Banners, rallying cries, and command of the field.

Three Tiers of Growth

Level 10
First Class
Choose one of several pure paths within your calling.
Level 30
Specialization
Your path deepens — or branches into a hybrid if you've blended two.
Level 60
Mastery
Your apex identity, pure or hybrid.

You Earn It By Playing

There is no points currency to bank and spend. Each class line levels by playing it — its abilities unlock as that line grows, and your spread of play is your path. The great crossings — first class, specialization, mastery — are earned through guildmaster quests: deeds pace your growth, not grinding.

Pure Path

Lean hard into one line and earn the strongest single-identity classes — the deep, focused fantasy.

Broken Path

Split your play between two lines and unlock hybrids that only mixed builds can reach. Neither is "better" — they're different fantasies, and a stray detour never closes a door.

Because one character can carry more than one calling, the iconic cross-calling hybrids are open to anyone willing to walk both roads:

Vanguard + Mender → Paladin Reaver + Adept → Spellblade Evoker + Adept → Battlemage Mender + Skald → Warpriest

The Class Trees

Three pure lines per calling (L10 → L30 → L60). Balance two lines to open the hybrid specializations instead. Each spec grants its own signature path spell on unlock — iconic, and obtainable no other way. Working names — flavor still in the forge.

The Trades Are Callings Too

Mining, forestry, smithing, masonry — the trades are leveled callings in their own right, open to every character alongside their combat paths. Each climbs a ladder of titled ranks, and every rank-up is earned through a quest that restores a piece of the broken world — reopening a collapsed mine, replanting a blighted grove, relighting a cold forge. Leveling a trade is rebuilding the world.

Changing Paths

Switch between the callings you've taken up whenever you like — each keeps its own progress, and the active one shapes your kit. To cross a tier, take up a new path, or unlock a hybrid, seek out the guildmasters: growth is earned through deeds, and every blend is a new door.
